Writing a new rule-set

Ocawa is designed in such a way as to make possible the easy inclusion of new rules, or the removal of rules already present. In this way new rule-sets can effectively be created.

To avoid the complexity of the expert system's syntax, a user-friendly rule-description interface, using a language based on XML is available: OKWML. Thus it is easy to customise your web quality control system with rules that are specific to your environment or business.

Some examples of this include:

  • Assure that your company logo or the search facility is present on all pages of the site.
  • Verify that the footers on each page contain all the right links.
  • Ensure the good format (i.e. string-length) of attributes such as alt, title, etc.
