In its web-service flavour, Ocawa makes available the following interesting possibilities:
In the web-service version of Ocawa, for reasons of server load, large site audits are broken down into blocks of 100 pages. Infact, when audits are purchased via Ocawa, they are dealt with in blocks of 100 pages. Therefore a 700 page website, will count as 7 audits (units) paid; nevertheless, the report for the audit will be seamless and appear to have been conducted on the 700 page whole.
Two modes exist for working with the web-service: an audit can be viewed live, as it happens, with the user keeping track of the number of pages treated, or, for large sites especially, the user can be notified by email when the audit has been completed.
Thanks to Ocawa's on-line web-service you can save your audit reports in a private area on the Ocawa site. Reports are also automatically available as compressed files (.zip) and so are ready to send on by email.
One advanced feature of the Ocawa web-service is the possibility to establish an audit (with all necessary parameters) and to save it for use and re-use. This feature, which is referred to as a scenario, also allows auditing in one fell-swoop of a series of distinct domain names. In this case the audit is unified and with the various domains or subdomains displayed together in the same report.
You can download the OcawaToolBar, to run accessibilty checks as-you-go while you surf the web, or review your own local pages, before going live (internet connection required).
